CREATE OUR MISSION CHEER!

The BLAZHER logo presents a strong image of girls hockey, and is a reflection of the success that girls have achieved.  We want our players to reflect on this each and every time they prepare to go on the ice.  It is without a doubt that girls have achieved this success through dedication, teamwork and pride.

We need your help to create a five second mission cheer that will encourage bonding of team players, and display pride in the success young BLAZHERS accomplish throughout the season.

Are you up for the challenge?  If you are between the ages of 6-12, create what you believe our mission cheer should be and send in your submission.  The creator of the winning Mission Cheer will receive $100, recognition here on our web page and in other forms of advertising media.

Go to contact page, and send your submission to BLAZHERS Girls Hockey Skill Development.  Winning MISSION CHEER must be from a participant in the 2010-2011 season BLAZHER program.

TRHA WILL ASSIST LOCAL CHARITIES BEGINNING WITH LOCAL FOOD BANKS

The Ted Reeve Hockey Association promised to help out charities in our commmunity and will begin with a food drive for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

The Directors of the Association have agreed to forego the revenue collected by family and friends who come out to support their children in the house league program asking that visitors instead bring a non parishable food item.

As members of the community, this effort provides a wonderful opportunity to assist an organization that so desperately need our help.  Food donations are asked of those who attend games held on Saturdays and Sundays during the 2010-2011 season.

This effort is a pilot project, and to see it continued in the following seasons, we need your support. We are confident that our community members will act collectively to ensure it's success.

Additional details will follow as we appoach the beginning of the new hockey season in September, 2010.

TED REEVE  HOCKEY ASSOCIATION ENTERS THE TORONTO BEACHES LIONS CLUB

EASTER PARADE

And the support from the community was inspiring

MORE PHOTOS

I am so proud of everyone who participated in the Annual Beaches Easter Parade.  The highlight, without a doubt, was our hockey player skating for the kids...  showing awesome moves and high-fiving all the little kids sitting on the side walk

Spectators who are associated with the THRA would shake their TED REEVE jackets and shirts, display the logos on their garments, cheer as we passed by and proud to be a member!

Candies that were bought sure did not last long.  I thank the Ted Reeve Arena for filling up our little girls basket so she could continue to pass out candy.  It was clear that she loved giving to the crowd and did not want to stop.

Tweety and Sylvester were hugged, stopped to be photographed with children, and the other members of our team waved, danced, and smiled the whole time.

Events such as these are a new beginning for the Ted Reeve Hockey Association.  We are currently in the process of planning other events that will not only help with recognition of the TRHA, but will give back to our community such as fundraisers for other charitable organizations.  Keep visiting our web page for additional information as we will be updating our progress on a continual basis.

Thank you again for your support.

 VOLUNTEER - IT'S A REWARDING EXPERIENCE
With a 15 year old son who had never shown an interest in ice-skating let alone playing hockey, I did not picture myself as a "hockey mom". That all changed back in September of 2009, when my son asked if he could join a hockey organization. I arrived with boy in tow at Ted Reeve Arena intending to gather information and in no way prepared for my son to play. Before I knew it, my son was informed to go to a dressing room, the coach gave him hockey gear to borrow, giving me time to purchase the necesary equipment, and he was on the ice that very day.
I will never forget how helpful the volunteers were that day as they gathered around to make sure all my questions were answered. It wasn't too long before I was approaching the Chair of the Association eager to volunteer and help in any way I could.
I have big shoes to fill, and is often humbled when I speak to the many volunteers who have dedicated over 30 years to the association. They are ever so supportive as I continue to learn more about hockey and the association and I look forward to many years serving the parents and players associated with the Ted Reeve Hockey Association. Join me, won't you? CLICK ON MY PICTURE FOR VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
