TRHA Skill Development Program

If you have children involved in hockey you may have heard of Bob Acton and the Beach Sports Academy.  Some of you may have already signed your child up for the training programs that Bob offers to new and established hockey players and have witnessed a substantial improvement in your child’s game

The Ted Reeve Hockey Association is proud to partner with the Beach Sports Academy in offering this very same level of training for our athletes registered for the 2010/2011 season.

Our skill development program will foster  a sportsmanlike hockey environment in which athletes can learn  the basic skills, or enhance their current playing ability without the distractions that are often associated with an over emphasis on winning.  Mastery of the fundamental skills and enjoyment in participation are essential to the development of an infinite interest in hockey.

Our program will be conducted to accommodate the number of new and returning players who wish to play hockey and to reduce the number who become disenchanted and abandon the game.

We believe it is important that players recieve the training necessary to be successful when trying out for the select and GTHL programs, or any program the player wishes to be a part of. We are offering the stepping stone for that success.

Unique is definetly a term associated with this program. Formulating a partnership with an established and well known teaching academy, drawing on their knowledge and proven teaching capabilities then passing it on to the athletes is almost unheard of.  Who will benefit the most?  The athletes. This is what the Ted Reeve Hockey Association strives for, and it is hoped that other hockey associations adopt this type of programming so that playing hockey reaches a whole new level of enjoyment!

The Ted Reeve Skill Development Program will focus on the following

 · Speed and power through edge drills

·  Multi-directional crossovers

·  Stick handling skills

·  Ability to recover from falls

·  Goaltending drills

·  Confidence

Parents and players alike have been requesting practices throughout the 2009/10 season.  This is way more than practice!  We need you to help us realize a successful implementation of this program. Register your child for a new hockey experience with the Ted Reeve Hockey Association TODAY!
